2 cards for Archi-Scraps

Well this is an odd looking building - I wonder where it is?

It is the inspiration for September for Archiscraps, & I have decided to make 2 cards using the criteria of USE LAYERS and /or CORRUGATED CARDBOARD.

Here they are -

My first card ' May all your wishes come true' is made up of 'scraps' from my left over paper drawer, & some older round stickers, plus flowers...it is my friends birthday soon, & I know she will like this one.

And my 2nd card, also uses scraps from that drawer too.....I love scrapping with scraps!

Thank you for a great challenge,

Hugs xx

This is the Life @ ARTastic

Well I have had 3 days of a health 'reprieve' - no idea why, but it has been brilliant. My red blood cell count is down, and usually I am huffing around, but gee it is amazing...whatever it is - thank you!

So I have scrapped...

Here is the September challenge from ARTastic

 A little about William Knox

William Dunn Knox was born in Adelaide in 1880.
He studied at the National Gallery of Victoria where he won a coveted prize for drawing. In 1918 he became a member of the Victorian Artists Society and later a member of the society’s council. In 1919 he became a member of the Australian Artists’ Association with whom he held his first solo exhibition.and as a businessman became the. manager of the Eagle and Globe Steel Co.  Knox Plein Aire painting followed the tradition of the Heidelberg painters. Most of his paintings started as sketches or colour notes done on location and were later finished in his Heidelberg studio. In the 1929 catalogue forward to his exhibition Streeton wrote ‘there is something alluring and almost lyrical about many of Mr Knox’s small paintings'.
Knox became a founding member of the Australian Academy of Art, formed in 1937, an anti-modernist group chaired by the then attorney general, Robert Menzies.  His works are represented in the National Art Gallery, Canberra, the Art Gallery of South Australia, the Art Gallery of Western Australia, the National Gallery of Victoria, museums and art galleries of the Northern Territory, Art Museum Armidale, Bendigo Art Gallery, Ballarat Fine Art Gallery, Castlemaine Art Gallery
William Knox died in Melbourne in 1945.

I was very impressed with this painting & have been waiting to feel well enough to do it justice and scrap it. Plus having a great photo - thanks Jade.

Here is my page.
I have used the sandy colours, the sea, the birdies -  all set at the beach last Saturday.

Here is my Pete & Jade's Pete, paddling in the water at Evans Head in northern NSW ( I call it Heavens)...I took one look at this photo & loved it.

Added the colours of the sand, plus embellies from Amy Tan & Basic Grey.

And a couple of closeups

Thank you for a great challenge Jane & the DT's I loved working on this.

Hugs xx

Update of my 'mad' health

Been a long time since I scrapped & then blogged....here is a couple of FB posts...plus a today update.

Now September 11-

Getting over the Shingles slowly. Mmmmmmm

I had my 3rd Bone Marrow Biopsy Monday of this week, giving me a definate diagnosis for my red blood cell problem, it is Pure Red Cell Aplasia.
So I am now transfusion dependent....really this is way too much!!

But also cos of the transfused bloods I have to begin on some tablets today to start removing the excess iron I am storing in my body. Lordy....I am not looking forward to this....

September 2 -

New update!
I now have Shingles around my right eye. Pain and uncomfortable to say the least!
My eye was checked yesterday and so far ok. Got weeks of checking to go.
Might I say I am over all this!!!
Probably won't be on FB much, I just might sleep when I can.

August 29 -

Well a week has gone by, and I have been a real sickie in hospital, but slowly recovering.
I had Sepsis, kidney infection and the leftovers of the pneumonia to contend with, but with more drugs and the love of my dearest Pete and my wonderful Jade Willis I think I will go home tomorrow .
Then to work on the Leukemia and Aneamia! Struth!
Thank you for all your good wishes friends x x
