For the Love of Art

Just the sort of criteria I love over at Kraft it Up this month - fabric & stitching! Especially on Kraft & especially as I have my new sewing machine up & running just so well...what a beauty it is.

Here is the darling Tashi with one of her sculptured artworks - titled Third World Starvation, at a recent showing at a gallery in Brissie.  We are so proud of her & all she accomplishes.

I have had a load of fun with my new stitches, & some tissue paper, plus I made some circular fabric flowers, & also a black ribbon flower onto a wonderful gluber.

Thank you for all your comments, I appreciate the time you have taken to leave one.

Springtime....

From the September CC at ScrapBoutique comes Christine's challenge.
This challeng was open to any LO but  had to have 3 flowers & one had to be hand made.  So with my faithful & new found friend Glubers, I made two knotted organza flowers, that I think suits this fussy cut LO of dear Tashi & Mitchell.

Then i launched into Amanda's challenge of the following -

S.......is for stitching.

P.......is for photos.

R.......is for red.

I........is for ink.

N.......is for numbers.

G.......is for garden.

Please select at least 3 of these items to include on your LO.

So I decided to use all criteria & here is my page -

I just love my new Brother sewing machine...what a delight it is to sew with!

Hope you have time to scrap...

So happy for you......

Here is my card for the wonderful Helen's amazing card challenge blog, Card & a Half.  I used Tattered Inspirations Lady in Red Mini Kit with 2 gorgeous French Rose tiles. I chose to turn the card sketch 90deg & add stamping & lace as the 'embossed' section of the card, do some fussy cutting & voila, a card for a friend! There is a little slip on my stamping...but isn't that life!

The challenge was to scrap this great inspiration - it is a lovely sketch.

I am doing this one on the 11th hour too....where does time go lately!!

Let's Get Shabby #27

What a wonderful inspiration for me...you know how much I love cooking..perfect!

I decided to have a whirl at this fabulous site & here is my piccies...

I have had this corrugated box in my pantry & it holds all my lovely patty pan papers, so wow, it is great to have fun & embellish it all up.
I have used this photo of funny me, from our fabulous Inagural  Golden Circle Pineapple Party from December last year....what fun we all had finding 60's clothes & memorabilia from that decade, & included was recipes from Trish's great garage sale find of the Golden Circle Pineapple Cook Book......& of course featuring pineapple!!

The inspiration from TallulahBelles marvelous 'Grandma's (very apt for me) Kitchenalia Art Kit, Glamour Paperie'  was just so great!

All that red.....('when in doubt wear red' & yes I do have my red jacket & shoes on today) & gorgeous tickets, flower, ribbons & oh my that wonderful fabric just did it for me!

A closeup of lovely bits & bobs...

And of course the contents...my pretty patty pans..

I really enjoyed working on this one & tarting up this little box is great too...thanks gals!

My month at Soul Scrappers

At Soul Scrappers this month of September I have four challenges...so been busy designing & creating...and having fun...do join in if you like..

This is the first challenge...but need to have this one in by 16th.

For this Theme challenge I would like you to create a scrapbook page - digital, traditional or hybrid - using the challenge guidelines.

I would like to see you scrap a page, using the word CONTENTMENT as the inspiration & also using 2 or 3 MAIN COLOURS.

"Contentment" seems realistically defined as "enjoyment of whatever may be desired". That definition is realistic because the more contented an individual or community becomes the less extreme so more acceptable their desires will be.

Contentment could be - sitting by a lake reading, your little pets lolling about, kiddies playing in the garden, dad snoozing under a tree.......whatever you choose.

Next, upload your the photo of your page to the Soul Scrappers Gallery using the challenge tag THC39 in your photo tag.

Submissions must be uploaded and tagged by 7 pm Eastern time 16 September 2011. A winner will be drawn at random on 17 September and added to the top of this challenge thread.

You may enter as many submissions as you like for this challenge, but please do not submit duplicate challenge submissions. We do like to see new submissions for each challenge.

Here is my page...

I have scrapped my contented kitty, my 3 legged beauty called Scuzzi, using lovely papers & even lovelier embellishments, given to me by my dear friend. I choose blues & yellows, with some orange making an appearance.

Next one...

Here we have our next Ebony & Ivory Challenge, and it is of course open to your interpretation for traditional or hybrid or digital LO's.

I have had so much pleasure scrapping this page of my husband Pete's grand parents with this marvelous photo taken in 1924. It is so beautifully classic! I have titled it 'Foundations'.

The main colours I chose & would like to see on your pages are
WHITE & SHADES OF BROWN, with a few touches of BLACK.

Next, upload your the photo of your page to the Soul Scrappers Gallery using the challenge tag EIC4 in your photo tag.
Submissions must be uploaded and tagged by 7 pm Eastern time 21 September. A winner will be drawn at random on 22 September and added to the top of this challenge thread.
You may enter as many submissions as you like for this challenge, but please do not submit duplicate challenge submissions. We like to see new submissions for each challenge.

Hope you can join me in this one too!

And my 3rd challenge is based on a sketch of mine...

It is me again...& hope you can play along with me in this great sketch challenge....let's go!

This is the sketch that I have drawn, and it is of course open to your interpretation for traditional or hybrid or digital LO's.

Other criteria - buttons, stamping & a sticker of two please

Next, upload your the photo of your page to the Soul Scrappers Gallery using the challenge tag SC42 in your photo tag.
Submissions must be uploaded and tagged by 7 pm Eastern time 25 September. A winner will be drawn at random on 26 September and added to the top of this challenge thread.
You may enter as many submissions as you like for this challenge, but please do not submit duplicate challenge submissions. We like to see new submissions for each challenge.

Come join the team here with your fabulous submissions.....I am sure to rustle up a prize!

This is my page of little Harry playing on the slip & slide last summer....

And the 4th challenge is still in the pipeline....but having a great time thinking...maybe cards this time.....

So do join in if you would like...you are most welcome!

The Ultimate Dust Up & Spring!

Our city has just hosted the World Rally Championships, & amp; I for one thoroughly enjoyed the spectacle...so here is my little tribute to this fabulous sport.

This LO is inspired by Amanda at ScrapBoutique & amp; only using journaling spots, no patterned paper...and it was great to do!

And here is my page for Leanne's Spring challenge & so I scrapped a little photo of our daughter...our photos back then were rather hopeless & I found this one tucked away - here she is reaching for the stars!

Hope you are scrapping!
