Live & Love @ ARTastic

Well here I am after a few months. As I am feeling reasonable atm, scrapping was high on my 'to do' list.

So I have chosen this great challenge for September over at ARTastic

This month we feature this delightful piece by Donald James Waters called Spot on.
Our criteria is a Tribute to Dad - any Dad anyway you might like to portray them.

I enjoyed scrapping this great photo of my fabulous son in law, & his 2 youngest children..my Pippi & Hudson.

He really is a great man & I love that he loves my beautiful daughter, and all his family.

Thanks for this challenge.

Adorable @ Pixels & Paper

Well today was a digital type of day for me.

So I used this lovely inspiration across at Pixels & Paper.

And played with MyMemories.

 CRITERIA is FLOWERS

I choose this photo of my darling granddaughter Pippi,
just about to enjoy her daily 'chino' with her mummy.

I have used some bright colours along with subtle pastels,
and had fun 'gathering' flowers for my page.

Thank you for a lovely challenge.

You Make Me Happy @ Scrappingclearly

My scrapping friend Tania Ballestrin posted on FB about
Scrappingclearly's NSD Cybercrop challenges.

I was only up to one challenge this time, a lovely card sketch & here it is.

And my card using an old kit, but a lovely one.

Scrappingclearly also have monthly challenges & for May, Chloe has chosen this
sketch from the Maggie Holmes Open Book

Its a fun one that I like..

And here is my take

I have used a KC kit that I was given, with different colours than I usually use, but I felt it went well with this great photo taken on Mothers' Day.

This little laughing girl is my granddaughter Pippi, with her Aunt Debbie holding my new little grandson Hudson while Debbie's grandson gets a laugh in too. A very happy photo.

 A lovely challenge, thank you!

Good Nana @ Pixels & Paper

There is a beautiful challenge across at Pixels & Paper for April.

CRITERIA - Vintage style

I find this inspiration, somewhat gorgeous...

I have chosen to scrap a page about one of Pete's late Nana's,
Good Nana as she was known. A beautiful woman that I had the pleasure to know for a few short years.

I was given a G45 paper pack & embellies from my lovely scrapping friend Leanne, & that is the basis of this LO.

Gorgeous products along with such a lovely outfit of Nana.....I am wondering if my late MIL made her hat, as she was a wonderful milliner?

Thank you for a great challenge. It was fabulous to be able to work on a page.

Sleeping Like a Babe @ Scrap the Boys

After a month of 'extra' illness added to my ongoing Leukemia, I had the most wonderful time back in my scrap room yesterday playing with papers, & bits & bobs for my first LO about our darling baby grandson Hudson.

I worked on a fabulous April challenge from Scrap the Boys.

My son-in-law was watching the football, with little Hudson stretched out & they both fell asleep - what a great photo!

So here is my page.

I so enjoyed getting into my new G45 papers from my dear friend Leanne, & lots of tags & embellies.

Isn't scrapping good for the soul.....

Thank you for this challenge.

Missing Scuzzi @ ARTastic

Another great challenge from ARTastic for this month - titled

The Wild One

CRITERIA - Wood Veneer

A little about Mia Taninaka  - The little girl who once painted a forest all over her bedroom walls has grown up to be a wizard of fine line and expansive colour. Sydney born, Mia now lives and creates in the calm and elemental Bali. Painting predominantly with acrylics, watercolour and ink, Mia currently exhibits throughout Australia and Asia, always looking to expand her horizons. She likes to draw and paint on found wooden objects and panels, creating stunning colourful imaginative works inspired by her Japanese heritage and Australian roots.

Here is my digital interpretation.

I have used a photo taken in February 2016 of my hubby Pete, and our oldest kitty at 19, called Scuzzi. Poor Scuz had a stroke & died not long after this photo was taken.
She loved lying in Pete's arms like a baby....she was so loved.

Thank you for a lovely challenge once again.

Hugs xx

As every thread of gold @ ARTastic

December inspiration "Merry Christmas" by Alice Ju

Here is the ARTastic

December inspiration "Merry Christmas" by Alice Ju

A little about Alice Ju ...

Alice Ju’s artworks are best known for her photo-realistic and dramatic colour, emphasising the radiant splendor of both the urban and natural world. She confidently employs dynamic artistic mediums in her works including oil paint, watercolour, acrylic, pastel, charcoal and pencil.
Alice was classically trained under renowned Australian artist, Kay Maloney.
Alice’s artworks have been displayed in various art galleries and public exhibitions including Mosman Art Gallery, Drummoyne Art Society and NSW Transport Public Art Exhibition. Her stunning works are regularly featured in support of charities and other non-profit organisations including the Exodus Foundation and the LEAD Group. Alice is the founder and director of Creative Einstein Education, a private education centre located in Campsie, NSW.

Now I decided to use my Art Journal for this one - working on a double page.....I work in it from time to time & intend to do more in 2016.
I choose to use the other bauble colours as well...such a pretty inspiration.

Here is my 2 page arty journal.
I began with a thin layer of Decorart Old Gold paint...then Finnabair gold crackle paint & a stencil.

Then Heidi Swapp stencils &  Colourshine sprays..in Mint, Pink & Aqua

Stamping using about 5 different stamps (I never remember where they are from) & Dew Drop inks

I choose this Old English quote
As every thread of gold is valuable, so is every moment of time.
I certainly enjoyed playing with these pages over the last few days.

Thank you for a lovely end of year challenge.
Will miss the outgoing DT's - always lovely work.
Hugs xx
