Right Now @ Scrap Around the World..

I have not joined in with the scrappers at Scrap Around the World before but with such a fabulous event of one year's worth of challenges..how could I resist!

So this is my page....titled 'Celebrate Today, Right Now'...

I have used this photo of me in 1985, looking so joyous...but I know how insecure I was feeling! I felt I had the weight of the world on my shoulders....a little family whom I loved, & I really thought that I wasn't clever/confident/able to bring them up well.  So of course they are grown up & so independent...of course I need not have stressed myself out so much....if I had only realized that one foot follows another, & all is well with the world if you decide it is.

Here is the wonderful inspiration for my page -

I actually love this photo..even if it is of me, so thought I would use it in this context...

I have used gesso & texture paste on black CS, masks, Heido Swapp ColorShine, along with washi tappe, plasters tape, frames, Heidi Swapp embellies, Freckled Fawn enamel dots, tags, stamping, handmade tiny flowers, & a whole lot of thought at my life back then too.

And lots of layering which I love too!

There is nothing like a good time out to play with scrapping bits & bobs to make me feel great!!

Thank you gals for a fabulous inspirational challenge...

And right now, all is great with the world!!

Every Day Is Beautiful...@ Orange Paperie & Co

This months challenge over at Orange Paperie is a wonderful one...& here is my page...

The challenge is -

to use these images to inspire you to create, whether it's the colours, products....
 from the first image

This image is by the very talented
And to use this quote in some fashion....be it the whole Quote or even just a word or two from it!

I have used a photo of my Pete's parents, Dirk & Garland at our wedding 37 years ago. I have been scrapping lots of memories today...& it is making me feel quite nostalgic!

I took inspiration from the 'love' feeling in the gorgeous goodies & used part of the quote
"Every Day Is Beautiful' especially on your son's wedding day.

Thank you for a fabulous challenge.

Liebster Award to me, & now passed to my friends...

I am very excited that I have been awarded a Liebster Award from Crystal, one of the lovely scrappers I have met along the way over at The Memory Nest
It is a thrill that one other scrapper takes a peep at your blog & leaves such kind words.

The Liebster Award is given to up and coming bloggers who have less than 200 followers. It is a way to bring attention to these blogs and build the blogging community.

The meaning of Liebster in German means sweetest, kindest, nicest, dearest, beloved, lovely, kind, pleasant, valued, cute, endearing, and welcome. How nice is that?

As a recipient of this award I need to do the following:

  1. Answer the 8 questions the awarding blogger has asked me.
  2. Nominate 8 bloggers (with less than 200 followers) for the award and link to them in my post.
  3. Create 8 questions the nominated bloggers have to answer.
  4. Let the nominated bloggers know they have been nominated.
(These are the requirements for the people whom I nominate as well)
  1. What is your favorite color? RED
  2. What is in a must have I item you have in your purse? CREDIT CARD
  3. Salty or sweet treat?  SALTY
  4. Do you watch t.v. or listen to music when you scrapbook? OFTEN JUST SILENCE...& I LOVE IT, & THEN SOMETIMES SOME BOOMING MUSIC..DEPENDS ON MY MOOD!
  5. Can you dance? NOT REALLY...
  6. Favorite memory from your childhood? GROWING UP WITH KITTY CATS
  7. Do you watch t.v and if you do what is your favorite t.v. show ever? I WATCH TV ONLY SOMETIMES, & I RECORD DOCUMENTARIES - SO THAT'S MY SORT OF PROGRAM.
  8. Your dream job if you could do anything? BE A NATURAL HEALER
  9. favorite hobby other then scrapbooking? OH IS THERE OTHER HOBBIES??? READING.
  10. Do you enjoy being in the house all day or outside? I GO TO WORK 4 DAYS A WEEK, & THAT IS A DESK JOB SO I ENJOY BEING OUTSIDE WHEN THE SUN IS SHINING, BUT ALSO I NEED TO BE INSIDE TO SCRAP!
  11. One food you would eat everyday if you had to? SALAD

Thanks you for nominating me Crystal & I enjoyed answering your questions.
I nominate the following good folk for this award -

Dale Tiernan

Michelle Lark

Leanne MacDonald

Mary Steinmetz

Shazza Bishop

PB Libby

Tarrah McLean

Anita Bownds

And here are your 8 questions!

1. How long have you been scrapping?
2. Can you remember your first page you scrapped?
3. What is your favourite dinner?
4. Can you survive without your mobile phone? :)
5. Do you like shopping online?
6. Do you have pets?
7. Do you enjoy scrapbooking retreats or crops?
8. Your favourite fruit?

For those of you who I have nominated, I really hope you accept and participate. This is such a fun way to spread the word about different blogs and learn a little about the bloggers themselves. Please leave a link in the comments if you do participate so that I can read your answers to my questions.

National Scrapbooking Day - so I scrapped!

An annual event that means we scrappers need to add piccies to paper!!

First up is a LO I worked on for Let's Scrap.  I am new to this Ning site..dear Cathy steered me over there..

I have used one of Debby's sketches

 5-2-14
& this is what I came up with

I really had fun 'doing my own thing' with these photos & embellies...& that is what NSD is about I would say!

My next LO at Let's Scrap is using this sketch of Debby's as well

5-1-14

And now my version...

Then a 'Heidi Swapp' LO....using an old old photo of my little children

We were such a little happy & independent family then...reliant on each other.

Then a fun LO about me that I worked on for Soul Scrappers

I hope you could get your scrap on too...

Last official day of my holidays...so I have scrapped...& of course loved it!

The challenge over at Scrap The Girls is

Take inspiration from the following quote : you may choose to go with the colour, use the whole quote etc - just have fun with it!

" Something old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue"

So here is my page, I have used one of my fave's Kaisercraft Pickled Pear pp & embellishments with some Prima flowers & WOW chipboard

...I choose to use those words in my journaling..

Something old - mum's pretty antique brooch
Something new - my winner's sash
Something borrowed - my long hair extension (I had just had my hair cut short!)
Something blue - my period velvet & lacy outfit.

And a little more detail about me in this photo...

This was the very fist Junior Jacaranda Princess quest in Grafton in 1967, & I won it...my mum's dressed me up beautifully in this period outfit, & to this day I still cant believe it!

Beautiful Memories @ ARTastic

This month in honour of Mother's Day which is celebrated in many countries around the world sometime during May, we present to you  Amarys by Robert Hagan.

Criteria - Mother and child

A little about Robert Hagan

"I’ve been pushing paint around for about 30 years and still enjoy every moment of it- so its still a hobby I guess. My boyhood was spent exploring the rainforests of the Tweed Valley in Australia while stepping around snakes that basked in the midday sun. School was as little bookwork as possible and moments of unconsciousness on the football field. A 16 hour steam train trip to the ‘big smoke’ and 4 years later I graduated from University with a bit of knowledge about history, economics and drinking. Painting started about the same time as I started working and it increasingly challenged the latter as the most relaxing and rewarding way forward. It finally took over and traveling the world followed. A number of great relationships later, 2 fabulous boys and painting in USA, the UK and Asia and the years slipped by. A few books about painting then a glancing shot at a TV series and I’m here!"
http://www.roberthagan.com/

So with this wonderful inspiration I have created this page..

This is a photo of my wonderful daughter Jade & I at the headland at Lennox Head a few years back.  I love this photo..says it all to me!

I have to say I have used flowers on this LO, like I never have before!

I do hope you pop across & join in with us...such an apt inspiration!

This is my last month with ARTastic as well...I love the Design Team, they are all so very talented & will miss them.  Thank you Jane!
