Time Flies @ Let's Get Shabby/Arty

Playing along right at the end of the month with this great challenge at

Let's Get Arty
Challenge # 68
Show us any genre of project with.....
Small dots or spots and distinct outlines

It's a great inspiration...

So here is my 8.5 x 11 watercolour page.

I love WC paper - the texture, the ability it has to do just what I want!

I used a stencil along with Heidi Swapp Colour Shine & Dylusions sprays as the background.

I love how things just 'lob' on my desk....I am the only scrapper here, but suddenly this card showed up with all these lovely circular words & signs, so with some terrible fussy cutting here it is in close-up.

I have used my new Chameleon pens, gold Zig writer to outline circles & embellies, along with some BG stickers &  dear little enamel dots from an unknown source!

It was great to work on this page about my little granddaughter, I enjoyed the freedom of the page.

Happy Faces @ The Memory Nest

Leslie has another great sketch for Make it Monday 47 over at The Memory Nest

So I was inspired to work on this today.

I used these delightful photos of my little GD Pippi & her best friend Fynn.

Fabulous pp by Websters Pages, with me swiping Dew Drop inks across the page to give me the matching colours & stripes like the sketch.

Gorgeous faces really!

I used some AC Thickers & some really old alpha sticks along with some Amy Tan puffy ones.
Thanks for a great challenge.

Time is Precious @ Pixels & Paper

Onto my next project - working on Pixels & Paper October Challenge

and it is another great one.

It is an 'anything goes' challenge, but with an explanation of what inspired you.

So here is my page

Well I was inspired by the Great Bell of 'Big Ben' - and I used a photo of the very tower I took on our OS trip in 2005.

I loved the textures of the tower, the stone, the majesty of this old building.
I tried to add layers, & depth to my LO in light of this.

We arrived at Heathrow, Jade took us to our accommodation & then straight on the tube, to alight at Westminster Station...so our first 'real' glimpse of London was this!

I have used Kaisercraft 'Timeless' & Base Camp papers & embellies here, along with a big Prima flower, The Scrap Girls flair, kraft card & my Zig writer.

I really enjoyed scrapping this photo - thank you for the challenge.

Yum @ Archi-scraps

Joining in with this fun inspiration over at Archi-scraps this month..

It is part of a roof feature by Gaudi, in Spain.

We want you to USE MOSAICS OR CRACKLE.
This could be cut squares, serendipity squares,in fact any type of mosaic!

I really like this - a very clever piece!

So here is my page using a pretty Pippi photo

I used some paper scraps, as well as some packaging torn up in to little squares along with some Basic Grey shapes.

I also stamped a lovely Studio Calico pineapple & coloured with my new chameleons - thought it suited the theme too.

Thanks for a great challenge.

Blessed @ ARTastic

Using this Kaisercraft paper I have taken a real shine to lately I have created this 'vintage' style LO for the ARTastic inspiration for October.

We are working with this beautiful painting by E Phillips Fox called The Green Parasol (1912).

A little about Emanuel Phillips Fox

Born in Melbourne in 1865 to a legal based family, he first studied art at the National Gallery School in Melbourne before moving to France and England between 1887 and 1892 to study. He spent time at the magical destinations of Etaples and Giverny, as well as St Ives, the open-air painting hub of England. Returning to Australia, in 1893 he took over the lease of Charterisville in Heidelberg, and created a studio in which he taught outdoor painting techniques in the summers. Fox also co-established the Melbourne School of Art, which proved serious competition for the National Gallery of Victoria school over the 1890s. Having taught for nearly a decade, during which his portraits were in demand, Fox left for England in 1901, and lived in Paris from 1905 to 1913. He and his wife Ethel Carrick Fox made many brilliantly-coloured impressionist studies of beaches, striped bathing tents and markets in France and North Africa; of all the work of Australian artists of the period, the Foxs’ paintings look the most French. In 1913 he returned to Australia, marking the occasion with an exhibition of some seventy works. Fox passed away in 1915 from cancer.

So using an old wedding photo of Pete & my wedding, with Pete's late parents
I created this page.

I have used the colours of the 1970's - the venue had terrible coloured walls & curtains that make us laugh now...so with that in mind....

I have used lots of scraps from the drawer, Flourish with a Bling, a selection of Prima flowers & leaves & Sharon Lee flowers too. The small sayings are from Kaisercraft too.  My small piece of hand journalling is on package.  So a real scrap page.

Thank you for a great challenge.

Love & Pineapple Pickles @ FMS

Another Saturday afternoon where I was doing chores,
& I had to stop & make this card - for a rest!

So using this lovely sketch from Freshly Made Sketches

I really enjoyed working on this card.

I did eleborate & embellish my card - but I wanted a romantic & loving feel to it.

I used a Kaisercraft card base along with white CS, Inked edges, hand dyed seam binding, Kaisercraft pearls, flowery ribbon, stamping, metal flower & an ATC that I made.
It is a mixed media ATC with tissue & gesso, music paper, butterflies & hearts.

Thank you for a lovely sketch that I did play with.

I actually spent most of the morning making Picked Pineapple Chutney.

It is a friends birthday & she loves home 'mades', so this will be just right with her.

Wishing You @ Use Your Stuff

Another fabulous challenge across at Use Your Stuff

Challenge #193-Markers/Inks

And of course I had to join in!

And here is my card ...

I love brights so it was so fun working on this one!

I chose purple card as my card base, then water colour paper that I misted with 2 x stencils, then added acrylic paint & gel medium with another stencil,  & sploshed on Tim Holtz Distressed Stain in a lot of glorious colours.

I then added the feathery Prima embellies & hearts plus a flower made by a friend Sharon Lee.

Really happy with my card...very usable!
