Celebrate in Style...

And with Christmas past, we head to the New Year....and with a lovely challenge from Sandie, at Sandie's Place I made this celebratory card.

I received a wonderful box of goodies today from the wonderful Janet at Scrapville today for a ScrapBurst win, & amongst the fabulous treats there were some American Craft rubons & a wonderful 3D butterfly punch, which I used on this card.  Plus some gorgeous netting from my Not-So-Secret Santa Karen & using wonderful BG papers. Thank you gals!

I will give this card to Tashi on her 18th Birthday, which is in February!

Jubilee Holiday Tutorial

The first of five tutorials at Soul Scrappers - this was my tutorial, that has been received well....

Celebratory Surprises

(Or changing Ring Pull cans into
present containers)

I first saw this idea demonstrated by a local friend of mine Felicity, & have adapted my cans accordingly.

Step one

Collect any sized can, BUT it has to have a ring pull at one end.  Choose fruit or vegetable cans, as fish (tuna) will probably keep their smell.

I choose 2 sized cans of corn kernels, & also some condensed milk.
(So with the heap of corn I made a big batch of Corn Relish.)

Step two

Using a can opener, take off the other end of the can (not the Ring Pull end), & rinse & dry completely including the end that was taken off.

If you have a pet, do check that all is OK with them…my cat Bob came & sat on the dining table that I was using for this tutorial…& he is never allowed to sit there & has never done before!  Quality control I think it is!!

He is seen in a number of photos - not camera shy my lovely lad!

Step three

Fill your Celebratory Surprise Can with –

Lollies (wrapped),
Chocolates (wrapped)
Clothing
Jewellery
Gift Vouchers

Anything that can fit into the sized can you have chosen.  I choose lollies & chocolates for some of mine, because I know they will be opened soon.

Chocolates

Beer holder & a packet of Cow Seeds – to grow your own herd!! For Bernard.

Little pressies – jewellery, nailpolish & headband for Hayley.

Step four

Carefully attach the end with sticky tape.  My can opener leaves quite a sharp cut edge, so I have covered that in tape before adhering on with more tape.

Step five

Cover tin with selected papers – just measure & fit to size.  I have used double sided tape, with 3 long pieces & a piece on the overlapping edge too.

Step six

Then add ribbons, embellishments & tags – whatever you like.

Step seven

Then add ribbons, paper strips, any embellishments & tags, & voila a great present sitting under the tree for Fred or Bernard or Hayley!

 FINISHED PRODUCTS

HOPE YOU HAVE A WHIRL AT MAKING THESE, & GIVE AWAY AS THE RECEIVER ALWAYS FINDS THEM FUN!
Cheers, Debi

Santa baby...

And here is little Harry way back at Christmas 2006, with Norn on Christmas Day, in our home (now Harry's home!)

And this is my page for White with 1 this month & criteria being....

White
Christmas Themed
Christmas photo

My inspiration was from Garland's blouse, the pink/red flowers & Harry's little Santa hat. And then adding the fabulous Bo Bunny 'Back to Basics' papers I achieved that white/pink/red page that I was aiming for. These are not Christmas papers, but I thought them wonderful!

I hope you are enjoying the lead up to Christmas & not stressing too much.

I have been in the kitchen today & I am in the process of making Corn Relish.  In the fridge & setting, is Apricot & Sultana Balls, Fudge with Cranberries & Fundge with Nuts, Bark, & Rocky Road.

I think it is time for a rest!!

Cheers,

In thought....

I was so moved by Jeanenne's LO titled 'In the Pool' over at ScrapJacked, I couldn't help myself & used it as inspiration for my LO using a photo of Pete taken when we were in England.

I made the tissue flowers out of  paper that come with a pair of shoes, & popped embellies on that suit Pete. I adore this PinkPaislee Butterfly Collection ephemera! A smidge of stitching & a splat or two, & I was happy.

Thank you for taking a peek. xxx

Tastes of Summer

Well this is what I remember as a summer taste, cos for the 12th December it is more like July!! Raining yet again & cool!!

What a fab challenge this was from Shazza, at Soul Scrappers...it is the Tastes of Summer & mine is a Prawn Cocktail - fresh salty prawns, smooth creamy avocado, crisp green lettuce & a tang of lemon!
Wonderful food!
I enjoyed some finger painting, using a serviette, stamping & cutting out my lemon rings courtesy of my new Judi Kins 'citrus cube' stamp from THe Stamp Trap in Brissie.  I popped in during my last stay there & was amazed at the big range of everything there.

Love to you xxx

So I decided to make my lovely friends Al & Dan this little butterfly stand with photos of their little daughter taken in October. I have titled it Sunshine Sally.

Hope you have been scrapping too!

Collecting seaweed

Finished this LO of Madi & Hayden collecting seaweed at Sawtell.  So I now have a double page.  I choose to use the colours of the seaweed, rocks & sand to highlight the beautiful blue sky in the photos.

I had a lovely time with ephemera, & words, & just relaxed into this page.

Hope you are able to scrap during this busy time. xxx

I'm dreaming of......at From Screen 2 Scrap

We all hear it 1000 times at Christmas, now is your chance to scrap it.)

For an extra 6 bonus points :)

1) White cardstock  = 1 pt
2) Two color title = 2 pts
3) Christmas Hats = 3 pts

Here is my LO -

I have used lovely Basic Grey papers & embellies to enhance these fab photos taken in London during Christmas 2005.  I really wanted it to snow on Christmas Day, but we were so lucky that it did begin to snow on Boxing Day, just as we began driving out of London on our way to Capt Cooks birthplace of Whitby.  It was magical....and darned COLD!!

Why not join in with us at From Screen 2 Scrap & have a go at this wonderful movie poster inspiration.

Cheers,

There's no business like Christmas snow business....

What a soft & romantic painting by Thomas Kincaid...
I love this one as inspiration at ARTastic for December.

Diva Demand for an extra 6 bonus points try and
work the following into your layout.

1. A snowman=  1pt
2. A Christmas Tree = 2pts
3. Use the word 'Christmas' in your title = 3pts

I had a great time using these photos of Jade & Pete outside Rydges in Lincoln, UK at Christmastime 2005.  This was the first snowfall we had experienced & it was great, but after 3 days it melted & was probably the best for us Aussie travellers.
A splash of paint, stitching, some little Christmas trees & the snowman of course, all on gorgeous Basic Grey paper.

Why don't you join in here too...

Cheers,
