Harry's Family Cards
As a little Easter treat (with his little chick eggs) I made Harry some flash cards with his mum, dad, 2 sisters on one card each, & his grandma & pop sharing one, & his nan (me) & pa sharing one too.....
I just happened across a little clear box, & put a piccie of his little face on it. So all the little cards fit in that rather well. These cards were 'scrapjacked' from Tania. She made this gorgeous set of cardslast year...not quite the same, but I think OK.

LSBS - The Seasoned Scrapper - Summer 10
Now I thought that I enjoyed scrapping & then I hit this challenge, courtesy of Nic....to use the beautiful & evokative words from the poem My Country....& work on a canvas!!
My Country
by Dorothy McKellar
The love of field and coppice,
Of green and shaded lanes.
Of ordered woods and gardens
Is running in your veins,
Strong love of grey-blue distance
Brown streams and soft dim skies
I know but cannot share it,
My love is otherwise.
I love a sunburnt country,
A land of sweeping plains,
Of ragged mountain ranges,
Of droughts and flooding rains.
I love her far horizons,
I love her jewel-sea,
Her beauty and her terror -
The wide brown land for me!
A stark white ring-barked forest
All tragic to the moon,
The sapphire-misted mountains,
The hot gold hush of noon.
Green tangle of the brushes,
Where lithe lianas coil,
And orchids deck the tree-tops
And ferns the warm dark soil.
Core of my heart, my country!
Her pitiless blue sky,
When sick at heart, around us,
We see the cattle die -
But then the grey clouds gather,
And we can bless again
The drumming of an army,
The steady, soaking rain.
Core of my heart, my country!
Land of the Rainbow Gold,
For flood and fire and famine,
She pays us back threefold -
Over the thirsty paddocks,
Watch, after many days,
The filmy veil of greenness
That thickens as we gaze.
An opal-hearted country,
A wilful, lavish land -
All you who have not loved her,
You will not understand -
Though earth holds many splendours,
Wherever I may die,
I know to what brown country
My homing thoughts will fly.
I just loved working with paint on a canvas....just found it amazing...so needless to say it was a wonderful challenge & here is mine......
A little closeup, showing you my recycling of cardboard (my other favourite medium to work with) & paddlepop sticks...loved working with paints, & Glimmermist, inks. I have now completed a 2nd canvas tonight, to be a'set' or a cousin piccie to this one. I will photograph in the daylight & pop it on here.
Cheers, Deb xxxx

LSBS - April Cybercrop
Had some time this weekend for scrapping....in between gardening, & the usual housework.
Challenge 1, was a sketch by Belle.....& used a new piccie of my son's family...I titled this on 'Gems'. I used Kaisercraft pp's Prairie Lane, plus a lovely lot of embellies.
Challenge 1a, was a card sketch by Tara...but I did change it somewhat...using the words from Alice in Wonderland 'No Wonder I'm Late...'
Next was Tracy's lovely challenge to scrap our furry friends...so my kittens feature here, of course. 'Catitude'...including my lovely Sophi who is no longer with us. Big Bob & Scuzzi are smiling along.
Challenge 3 was a fun one...needed to use conversation in a LO...great idea Kerryn! I had some photos of the H & my laptop, during last visit....
Challenge 4 was a 'step-by-step' set by Nic & this was great. Made our own embellies using paint & transparent sheet...fun hey!! This one is of Mr H, playing at the beach...
I recently won a pack of marvellous Imaginisce pp's & embellies from a 'Blog Hop'. They have just arrived & so I really have enjoyed playing with all the pack...lucky hey!!!
Dee set challenge 5, & I decided to make a card.......and some little face cards...rather frivoulous...but so much fun!!! I came upon these large playing cards, during a recent work cleanup....they were headed to the bin, so I bought them home!! They were great to use, & have a play for this challenge.

Carole & James - just the best!!
James Taylor & Carole King sang so well, so fabulously at the Sydney Entertainment Centre on Tuesday 6th April - we were so lucky to attend & be apart of the huge audience, but feel that we were being sung to personally.......really & truly what a treat!

LSBS - Easter Fab 4
What a treat these challenges turned out to be...I really enjoyed scrapping the famous Beatles..
Challenge 1 was using John Lennon's song lyrics from Imagine..
I scrapped another page of the photos I have for Min & Dave's 2009 wedding.....such a beautiful photo.
Challenge 2 was using Paul McCartney's song lyrics from Yesterday...I used a wonderful, marvellous photo that has just made its way to me...it is my great grandfather at his boot makers establishment. Possibly my great grandmother too. More about all this find in a later post.
Challenge 3 was the George Harrison song lyrics ' Here comes the Sun' - I scrapped a piccie with my mum & dad & young Benni, at Benni's birthday - oh heavens ......
Challenge 4 was the Ringo Starr ' With a little help from my friends' & thus I have titled this LO just that.
This lovely piccie was taken last year with Tina, Jan, Mon, Linda & Roby...I do love it!
Last but definately not least is the album cover off 'Abbey Road'.....
What a great photo taken at Madame Tussards in London in December 2005! Pete was giving John a few pointers!!!

LSBS - The Seasoned Scrapper - Summer 9
Tracy set this great challenge with 'summer essentials' in mind....here is my take on the subject..
I used mainly all scrap pp other than my CS - a lovely Coredinations one that when distresses showed the pink through the black - & most embellies I received in lovely RAK's.

Scrapville March Blind Scrap - Quiet Time
Over at Scrapville, Janet ran a Blind Scrap that was brilliantly orchestrated by the talented Miss Melinda....I didn't get this done in the time allotted last weekend, but I thought it sounded fabulous. So I worked on this yesterday morning, & then after work & here it is... it really is a lovely 'sketch'.
This is my lovely Harry & a lovely group of photos that his mum sent to us. The blind was for 2 photos, but I used the 3 in the set....
