Pippa @ Scrap Around the World

With a few hours off work to create, I decided to play along with Scrap Around the World June challenge, & what a fantastic one it is too!

Look at this fabulous Mood Board by Di Garling....

 

Isn't it tempting?  Doesn't it make you just WANT to scrap?? Well it certainly sang out to me!!

Here is my page...about my darling little grand daughter..

I had fun with lovely inks & mists & stencils creating a perfect background using all the inspiration of black, white & shades of yellow to work in with this sunshiny photo of Pippa.
I love the yellow field of flowers, & my gesso'd & misted background reminded me of that, plus the gorgeous yellow flowers draping over the fence I had to 'drape' some flowers under my photo.  The whole inspiration is happy & joy, so added that to my title as well.
I have used some chevron straws to make a banner, & some divine little paper roses & buttons from a friend.

Crisp @ Paper & Pixels

I decided to have a little play with the wonderful inspiration over at Pixels & Paper..

Criteria - Anything goes - please tell us what it was that inspired you from our photograph

I just loved, loved & loved the inspirational photo (would love having it on my wall at home) & so dug around in my photos til I found this one we took (probably the first selfie we ever did) taken on a really cold morning during a visit to Stanthorpe. 

So it was the colours & the crisp red that attracted me! That cool wintery goodness!

3 scrappy cards @ ScrapAfrica

Over at Scrap Africa

the challenge is -

How long have you had a certain paper sitting in your scrap room, that is just longing to be used and forever remains on that shelf?  What about those eyelets or perhaps rub-ons that aren't so fashionable anymore, that really just are waiting to be used?

I think we all are guilty of creating stashes that eventually are just waaay too big to get through! So this challenge is really a challenge to you, to get out those old papers and goodies and freshen them up!

I really had a fine time yesterday creating these 3 cards..

For my  'Love' card

I went a bit 'hippie' & used a some stickers that were given to me years ago, along with an older BG 6 x 6 paper pad...& happy with the results!

And old A2Z Scraplets chippie lamp was my next little card...titled Home Sweet Home

I used a older 6 x 6 paper pad from Simple Stories - Generations, along with a lovely lots of FWAB pearls & enjoyed 'covering' the lampshade.

And for my final card titled 'Hope'

I used another 6 x 6 paper pad, this time on older Websters Pages pad, an A2Z Scraplets chippie of a birdie inked & all flourished with lots of small flowers & hand rolled ones too.

This was a terrific challenge - thank you gals!

Oh Happy Day - Not! @ ScrapAfrica

I have a few online scrapping friends that have been showing me some snippets from a wonderful site 

Scrap Africa, so I thought I would play along with their sketch this month...as I especially wanted to scrap this 'perfect' photo of my darling little grand daughter Pippi.

This sketch is by the lovely Denise van Deventer...I I love her style!

 

And here is my take on this....hehehehe

I used lots of bling to jazz up my page..a funny photo taken in a nationwide building warehouse that I think 1/2 of Australia shops at, Bunnings! You can see how she feels...

Here is Make It Monday Sketch Challenge 18 across at The Memory Nest ...

so I had to join in on a Friday!

And here is my page...using 2 different lines of Kaisercraft pp along with some scraps that were waiting to be used!

I chose these retro photos of my sister in law & I way back in 1977, at our mum & dad in laws home...gotta love that wall paper, my mum in law sure did!

I layered flowers & patterns & had a good old play! Perhaps a bit too much...but was good for my overworked soul today!!

Right Now @ Scrap Around the World..

I have not joined in with the scrappers at Scrap Around the World before but with such a fabulous event of one year's worth of challenges..how could I resist!

So this is my page....titled 'Celebrate Today, Right Now'...

I have used this photo of me in 1985, looking so joyous...but I know how insecure I was feeling! I felt I had the weight of the world on my shoulders....a little family whom I loved, & I really thought that I wasn't clever/confident/able to bring them up well.  So of course they are grown up & so independent...of course I need not have stressed myself out so much....if I had only realized that one foot follows another, & all is well with the world if you decide it is.

Here is the wonderful inspiration for my page -

 

I actually love this photo..even if it is of me, so thought I would use it in this context...

I have used gesso & texture paste on black CS, masks, Heido Swapp ColorShine, along with washi tappe, plasters tape, frames, Heidi Swapp embellies, Freckled Fawn enamel dots, tags, stamping, handmade tiny flowers, & a whole lot of thought at my life back then too.

And lots of layering which I love too!

There is nothing like a good time out to play with scrapping bits & bobs to make me feel great!!

I have used a photo of my Pete's parents, Dirk & Garland at our wedding 37 years ago. I have been scrapping lots of memories today...& it is making me feel quite nostalgic!

 

I took inspiration from the 'love' feeling in the gorgeous goodies & used part of the quote 

"Every Day Is Beautiful' especially on your son's wedding day.

This is a photo of my Pete & I will our little 5 month old Benjamin, & my dear, dear mum..the photo was taken on a picnic day out in Yamba...my dad is behind the camera, & we didn't think of taking 'selfies' of us all way back then! Oh the missed photos...but they are in my memories forever.

Liebster Award to me, & now passed to my friends...

I am very excited that I have been awarded a Liebster Award from Crystal, one of the lovely scrappers I have met along the way over at The Memory Nest.

National Scrapbooking Day - so I scrapped!

An annual event that means we scrappers need to add piccies to paper!!

First up is a LO I worked on for Let's Scrap.  I am new to this Ning site..dear Cathy steered me over there..

I really had fun 'doing my own thing' with these photos & embellies...& that is what NSD is about I would say!

No 4 @ Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge

Over at Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge the challenge is

Scrap or art journal your baby picture.  Journal anything unusual or interesting – were you a twin? Sickly? Curious?

So I scrapped the only baby photo of me & journaled about how I was the last of 4 children in my family ...

When I was born I came into the world with a brother Lance who was 16, my brother Alan was 15 & my sister was 14. I was the surprise baby!
