Falls Creek in summer - well it was about 12 degrees!

And then the road to Omeo! Now wonder it has that name!

That's right...it was like this an long way down that winding road...

But the reward of reaching our destination at Metung near Lakes Entrance...lovely place

Touring Victoria! Part one

Day One -

Hot, hot, hot! 37 deg in Melbourne...but still such a wonderful city, that we went tramming about town.

Day Two

Up through Healsesville & these gorgeous trees to Myrtleford.

Day Three

Up through Beechworth to Mt Beauty in the Europcar Skoda wagon

Day Four

Through gorgeous Bogong, & then Falls Creek to Omeo & Metung...never again...so, so winding road.

This is it - end of the holiday...

After the Otway Fly we drove back staying at Geelong again & on the way headed into Barwon Heads...wow how I would love to bring the camper here!!!!

Then up before dawn & drove into Melbourne early on Saturday morning, to go to the Titanic Artifact Exhibition at Melbourne Museum....such a highlight on our little holiday & so moving, especially for me....I have always had a feeling for the Titanic.

After our wonderful day in the museum we headed out into the cold outside & caught the free tram, & toured about the city....fabulous!

So the early plane home & our lovely holiday was over....but what lovely memories we have!!

Think that this will help the toursist trade???   Gorgeous places to visit along the road from Geelong to Port Fairy..

Just adored the rugged coastline, the pounding ways, the broiling ocean........so invigorating.  The Shipwreck Coast...so apt, so wonderful!

It was so early when this piccie was taken, about 8am & the sun rises so much later in Victoria than NSW & it was SO very cold, but breathtaking.  Pete is getting ready to take another photo.

Birthday Holiday Fun

One week of holiday...wow, it was great!!!!

Direct flight to Melbourne, pick up the hire car & off to the Great Ocean Road.  Definately cold weather, but also great weather...no howling gales.  Great sites to see, & just time doing 'our thing'.

Having a lovely dinner on my (gosh how old!!) 55th birthday, at the Chifley in Geelong.

Next morning, a little showery, but sat & ate our lovely buffet breakky watching the water....

Then off to Torquay & Bells Beach

Then just easily drove down the coast to Aireys Inlet....to the lighthouse that was used in 'Round the Twist'.  i just love lighthouses, & we even have a print on our bedroom wall of this one...been there years!!
