I'm Dreaming

Here is my card for Dawn challenge at our wonderful Christmas Card Club.
Her challenge was no stamped images, just words.  So although this looks a plain-jane card, I used lots of mixed media techniques to get here.  I love pinks & blues for Christmas...lovely little change from the usual colours.
I used light white CS, & a template that is from KC & is only words. So used my fave product at the moment - Gesso- & smothered the template.  Had to let that dry & gave it a good 3 hours, then got my inks on a piece of soft fabric & ribbed them gently over the dried CS. The colour sticks on the un Gesso'd & that highlights the words.  I used 3 diff coloured inks, & also gesso'd another page with pinks. After the pink was dry I punched out lots of hearts which will surely come in handy!  I then used a BG Christmas 'I'm Dreaming' sticker along with 2 pink hears on foam tape to give dimension to add colour & texture to the card.

I have also made a 2nd card, as I am trying to do this year & here it is..

I have used the same Gesso techniques, with a few more embells.

Hope you like them!

Hugs dear card making gals!

  3. This is gorgeous, Debi - and it might just have inspired me to get my Gesso out again (I never seem to have much success with it) - fabulous response to Dawn's challenge for CCC - don't forget that you could add it to my CHNC challenges if you wish. x
