Little tiny leaves

The challenge at Dixie Pieces was to use an older punch..one that does only one thing...so I chose my little leaf punch & had a ball with them over this LO!
This is such a great photo of our daughter with her dad, & I have wanted to scrap it for ages...& this was a perfect chance to do it.

Enjoy your Easter everyone...hoppity to you.

Years of Gold

What a lovely challenge this was at Soul Scrappers...it was to scrap a LO of our parents or grand parents with a B & W photo.  So I chose this wonderful photo of my parents in Lismore in 1942..isn't it lovely?

I really enjoyed working on this vintage LO...it was very special.

Lovely to see you here  xx

Been out of action....

But I'm back now!!! Internet seems to be OK now - thank heavens.

We have decided to sell our home & so all weekend it was nose to the grindstone getting it ready for prospective buyers...but I did have a chance to sneak in & work on a couple of  LO's for the
LSBS Cybercrop.

This LO of my nephew & his family, was inspired by Tara & included in 'pieces of my family.'

Another LO, of my lovely garden using a great sketch by Anna.

Take care,

Rave On

This is the title I have chosen from the list for the final LO for the Soul Scrappers Glee Club ....& yes, it was great night!  My dress up birthday party a few years ago...so I went a bit hippie-ish with this page & enjoyed digging around for that old feeling.

Thank you for looking...

Moving to the dark side......

Yes, that is correct - I am now working on digital LO's!!  I honestly had no idea how much I would enjoy them & so I have been fiddling about for a couple of days with colours & textures....
I have only limited photos as we have not yet recovered our data from the NAS drive (heavens I hope it all returns) that was blown up by the storm, & this is one photo that I found in my email & saved to my netbook.  This is for Mary's challenge at Soul Scrappers using these SU colours.

Hope the world is being kind to you,

Cheers Debi

Lightening struck last night...

Well, it struck our neighbours home next door really during a very electrical storm ...very damaging to them & to us & other neighbours...

So with that said, I have no big NAS drive any longer to access for my photos - it blew up....oh dear me!
It was one of the casualies of the force in our home including our air conditioner, 3 phones, the work laptop, TV & so hopefully when the new drives arrives (ordered today) hubby (Mr IT) will be able to replace the drive & restore all our back up, of our back up!!

It is SO scary when it happened...so bright & SO loud...we both jumped off our seats in fright...the poor kitties, well under the bed they went!!

Ring, ring to the insurance now....

Cheers, Debi...

Sea weed seekers

What a great inspiration from Sonia over at ScrapBoutique...to scrap summer fun pages, enhanced with some yellow.

So the Sea Weed Seekers LO of Madi & Hayden was worked on.  Had fun with some papers from Leanne, as well as my stock & a lovely doily from Marg.

My fave photo

Oh do I love & cherish this photo of my mum at her work in 1937 . She is 2nd from the left, side on to the photo knitting.  What a sweetie!
I have scrapped the whole photo previously, & also this portion before...but gee I think it is fabulouss, so scrapped it again.
I have worked on a sketch for Amanda's Stash Stomper at ScrapBoutique...what a lovely sketch it was too.
I have used some Bella paper that was going really cheap at Spotlight & I really love the pink with the touches of brown & green.  Also I have used a lovely journalling tag from the lovely Leanne..
Oh see the great bottle cap?  That is handmade by Marg,  over at http://bitsandpiecescreatedby-marg.blogspot.com/.  Do check out her blog!!

Thanks for taking the time to hop by,

My garden room

Another fabulous challenge at Soul Scrappers & that was to scrap our favourite room in our home.  Well I cannot scrap my scrap room as it is way too messy & has to stay that way...hehehe.
But really this is my very favourite room, our screened enclosure built about 6 years ago on the back of our home.  The reason I have this old purple curtain as a tablecloth on my lovely glass table is that just over that blue fence there is a 3 story home being built & the amount of dust that is being produced is phenomonal! This new dwelling will block our view to the bush reserve & our sun for lots of the year....sad isn't it!!

So I choose shades of purple with this LO...maybe that is how I felt too!!  A lovely Marg flower as well as a Tattered Inspirations one too, & some lovely Stampin' Up stamps & birdies.

Hope you are all doing well,

Take care xxx

March Challenge for Sandie's Place

I am home a little early today so sat & finished off a LO & also a card...here is a Happy Birthday card to my friend, she will receive it belatedly.
Sandie's criteria was 'autumnal colours & leaves', so I  it just worked in well with what I wanted to make.
I used lovely BG & KC papers, lace & a gorgeous Prima flower, on lovely black CS.

Take care gals,

When I was so small....

I had beautiful dreams....

I used a lovely kit from Carol at Tattered Inspirations to work on this LO of a little me.  This photo was taken in 1962 in the lounge room of the home I was growing up in Lismore, NSW. My lovely Aunty Val was visiting from Melbourne & had bought me that lovely blue taffeta dress....I looked a princess with my white gloves on!!
I am so lucky to have such a wonderful photo.  In the background is a wall hanger, that I now have on my scrap wall...it has been everywhere with me, & my dear daughter used it while she was young too.

Thanks for dropping by,

Love Debi xx

Out of my comfort zone....

That is the March CC at ScrapBoutique & it surely is!!

Manon's challenge was the criteria that Leanne found she liked the least, & so that was my challenge!  To scrap on very floral paper, machine sewing & rub-ons....so I actually enjoyed using this BG paper & lots of colours of jubilant Jadie & her birthday cake.

My next challenge was inspired by a sketch from Sonia & it was to do techniques that I dont usually use...so I didn't ink, or add lots of embellies & DIDN'T follow the sketch - norty hey! I used some more gorgeous goodies given to me by Leanne...lovely, lovely paper & flowers.

Hope you got to do something you loved this weekend too!

Cheers, Debi  xxx

More wonders of the world....

I have been working on some pages & these were for the 4-7-11 Wonders at the LSBS.

This LO of Pete & I near the Airey's Inlet Lighthouse ( 'have you ever, ever felt like this, strange things coming, are you going Round the Twist' - we  loved that ABC show) is following an inspiration photo from Nic, of the Northern Lights which has a lot of 'green' colours & I added leaves & tulle...just suited the coolness of the LO.

This LO of Jade, is title Roaming Rome, & was from Tara's information & photo of the Colusseum...as I have said before I am not an artist, not giving up my day job for sure, but it all worked OK here. Added that shabby look...hehehe
I was so fortunate to have this great photo of Jade in Rome...it is fabulous hey!!

Take care xx

The Golfers

This page I worked on over the weekend for the LSBS CC - using recycled materials.
I have used a lovely photo of Jade & her Pete, with Prima packaging & a clothing label, plus some lovely goodies from a couple of RAK's & a bit of doodling too.  I loved the colours together, enhancing the great photo.

My Pa....

This photo of my grandfather needed to be kept as it is disintergrating, so after a scan, I have it mounted with little tags, so if anyone else in the family does want it, it will be easily removed.
Such a wonderful photo taken in approx 1899 in Hawera in NZ, where he was living.  He was Captain in the local Fire Brigade, & here he is pictured with his uniform & medals. Some years ago, my mum gave me his medal on a gold chain that I wear with pride.

I have worked on this LO following inspiration from the LSBS March CC, that runs til 12midnight tonight..

Take care xxxx

Here is my next page in Jane Howden's 'My Place in the Sun'...& it is of my street.

I have used beautiful BG paper, KC flowers & Marg's Bits & Pieces flower & doily to highlight how lush the foliage looks this year.
