Remember When @ Scrap The Girls

Last official day of my holidays...so I have scrapped...& of course loved it!

The challenge over at Scrap The Girls is

Take inspiration from the following quote : you may choose to go with the colour, use the whole quote etc - just have fun with it!  

" Something old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue"

So here is my page, I have used one of my fave's Kaisercraft Pickled Pear pp & embellishments with some Prima flowers & WOW chipboard

...I choose to use those words in my journaling..

Something old - mum's pretty antique brooch

Something new - my winner's sash

Something borrowed - my long hair extension (I had just had my hair cut short!)

Something blue - my period velvet & lacy outfit.

 

And a little more detail about me in this photo...

This was the very fist Junior Jacaranda Princess quest in Grafton in 1967, & I won it...my mum's dressed me up beautifully in this period outfit, & to this day I still cant believe it!

What about this fabulous May Mood Board from Black With 2!

 Entries must be created on black cardstock using only the 2 colours stated , shades of these colours are allowed with a use of 5% white ..

This is a young me, at the Grafton Junior Debutante Ball in 1965...wow!!

I loved working with this mono colours & loved scrapping this old photo too.

This month in honour of Mother's Day which is celebrated in many countries around the world sometime during May, we present to you  Amarys by Robert Hagan.

A little about Robert Hagan

"I’ve been pushing paint around for about 30 years and still enjoy every moment of it- so its still a hobby I guess. My boyhood was spent exploring the rainforests of the Tweed Valley in Australia while stepping around snakes that basked in the midday sun. School was as little bookwork as possible and moments of unconsciousness on the football field. A 16 hour steam train trip to the ‘big smoke’ and 4 years later I graduated from University with a bit of knowledge about history, economics and drinking. Painting started about the same time as I started working and it increasingly challenged the latter as the most relaxing and rewarding way forward. It finally took over and traveling the world followed. A number of great relationships later, 2 fabulous boys and painting in USA, the UK and Asia and the years slipped by. A few books about painting then a glancing shot at a TV series and I’m here!"

So with this wonderful inspiration I have created this page..

This is a photo of my wonderful daughter Jade & I at the headland at Lennox Head a few years back.  I love this photo..says it all to me!

I have to say I have used flowers on this LO, like I never have before!

I adore the Kaisercraft Basecoat range & have had fun with mists & templates & stamps & inks preparing my base...I love the little end bit of the pp & can't cut that off!
I have also used some lovely hemp string & some hand dyed muslin..I love it too!

Here is my love, & our darling grand daughter..Pippi loves touching the guitar & making noises. :)

I have to say I have never scrapped a LO using a sketch like Kellie's before...lots of elements here...you could just mix & match!

Also my arty neighbour bought in a paper bag of her offcuts this very morning...all little squares & rectangles of mulberry paper...so I used that as part of my page too.

Play Time @ Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge

Time to scrap this week bought me across to Freaking Scrappy Challenge Blog

The challenge for April 1 is

Scrap or art journal about a favourite pastime from your youth. Was it a sport, fishing, cycling, reading, or teasing your older brother? Use a photo of when you were young, a photo of the pastime, or whatever is appropriate!!!

And here is my page...using a photo, a grainy old one taken with the beloved Box Brownie of me at the park when I was just 2&1/2.  I loved playing on the swings & the see-saw!

Was fab to scrap this along with lots of bits & bobs I have collected...including this group  stamps from a parcel.

We Had High Hopes @ STG

A little time & an old photo so perfect to scrap this with April's challenge at Scrap The Girls.

This month we want you to scrapbook your girls using traditional boy colour schemes and some "boyish" embellishments!!!Remember no boys allowed, just boy stuff!!

So here is my page...I really loved using the 'boyish' things for a photo of my dear flatmate Helen & I take years ago...

Kaisercraft 'Basecoat' began my page & embellished with other glories I had in my cupboards!

Having a few days off work has been just wonderful...I can scrap!

I decided to join in over at The Memory Nest, with their Make it Monday 15..& a great challenge it is too..

Here is my page using a darling photo of my lovely little grandaughter Pippa.

On my Kraft base, I have used my charcoal Gelato & a Prima flourish mask before layering lots of circles & a FWAB flourish cut in half.

Enjoyed scrapping today after a little hiatus while we had some lovely Easter visitors.

Memories of a Fearless Tree Hugger @CMS

April already - wow!!! I cant believe it!

So another fabulous palette from Color Me Scrappy & here it is...

And here is my take 

I just loved these colours from when I saw them, they gave me a ‘sunny & happy’ feel.

So I choose this photo of my 7 year old grandson Harry, to work with this palette -

he is such a dear lad & rather a wag too!

Found this little paper bag so added a journaling card, with my story tucked into it.

Excited to be a Guest Designer at Black With 2!!!

 

I have to say I was very chuffed to be given a Guest Designer spot for the month of April at 

Black With 2!! Wow!

Here is the fabulous Mood Board that Eve has set & it is a beauty!

With all these delicious colours I choose to scrap a photo of my dear mum at my wedding in 1976!

I really bad quality photo, but I worked in my editing program, & eventually had a reasonable photo to play with.

I was sent a bundle of goodies from dear Joy Anderson from the US recently & the serviette she sent (for some Art Journaling) was perfect! Added with a lovely heart I received in a Trinket Swap from Tiff at Scrap Sanity, & some other glories, I really loved putting this page together.

Norfolk Glory at Archi-scraps

Welcome to another fun filled month at Archiscraps.
On the other side of the world, spring has sprung.
Here in Australia we are going into autumn and the days are starting to get cooler.It is a nice time of year.
