Envy...........

 

Now this is a challenge in the 2nd week of LSBS, 7 Deadly Sins.... & it was to scraplift one of the LO's from the Gallery, so quick sticks I worked on a LO of lovely Tashi, in the style of the master Lauren Ball.

I used her 'credit card' painting style & really enjoyed playing around with this one.

This was an interesting challenge set by Nic at LSBS.  One that I was very mindful of.

It is the first in a series of the 7 Deadly Sins, & it is highlighting anger.  My anger in this photo is at myself at this time in 1984 in my beautiful young childrens' lives, that I worried myself into such a state that I am sure I missed magic moments.....but luckily I 'grew up' & found that I need not fret all the time about everything... 

It was catharic to actually sit & think & look at the photo....but funnily enough I chose to use BG Christmas paper - Jovial, for when I was the least joyous...  life works in mysterious ways!

This is what I chose to make..

This is Pete & I with my sister's doggie, Chief who I just loved...what a great boxer he was.  This photo was taken in 1975...weren't we spring chickens then??  So I titled my page 'Bring back the 70's' cos it would be great to whizz back & feel that era again.

What a card!

What a great sketch Helen used for her first month...I really enjoyed using this BG Capella range with a bit of extra ribbon to make this soft little card...what a grand beginning!

Scrap room as neat as a pin.....

cos we are selling our home, so it was digital for me for these 2 challenges at Soul Scrappers

My first LO was inspired my Mary & needed to have the word 'sunshine' plus 2 patterned papers as well.  So I have used a lovely old photo of my oldest brother Lance, with myself as a baby.

Then I used Justene's lovely sketch to work on this fun LO of Harry & his kitty cat Dolby...

Little baby Benni...

 

At ScrapBoutique for the month of May, dear Tam set the challenge of scrapping mothers & children, & I chose a photo of Benjamin taken in mid 1980, when he was such a little boy.  He was giggling so hard, & so was I, & I can remember it so clearly - just like it was yesterday!  It was great that Pete was nearby & we had film in the camera (film??) & he captured some lovely snaps.

Then with Sonia & Chels' challenges, I decided to use other photos of Benni taken at the same time, & these will go in his album.

I so enjoyed the colourings on Kraft, with little embellies that just seem to fit.

Over at Scrap with V, Vanessa is having a little challenge using the beautiful designs from Twiddleybitz...so I whipped up this card for the terrific Trish & Mick, as a bon voyage card as they head OS in about 2 weeks...

I loved the rooster & the cage...really sweet, mixed with a lovely flower that Kris made for me.

I have to say that this colour scheme is not one I would have thought of, but thanks to Lean at Soul Scrappers I now love it!  

This theme challenge was to use a B & W, or sepia photo with blues & pinks & lace....& I have to say I love this photo of Jade, &  so I am really happy with how this page turned out.

Here is my take on May's fabulous inspirational poster at From Screen to Scrap - & I have scrapped my 3 kitties. 

Mr Bobby, our big black boy kitty (who is a sook), our lovely 3 legged grey & white Scuzzi who is so wonderfully gentle natured & so loving (she does love me to brush her) & our dear departed wonderful torti Sophie who died a couple of years ago...she kept these kitties in check & we miss her telling Bobby what for!

What a great inspiration at Scrap the Girls this month....I just LOVE the colours & it says to me...fun, fun, fun!

So I was lucky enough to have a marvellous photo of Madeline ( love the white & blue showing so clearly) at Christmas on the Big Banana waterslide.....(great photo Jade!) & so chose to use that with some OA papers, Marg's bottle cap, Prima flowers, Echo Park do dads, & some bits & bobs from my stash, & I like how it has turned out.

A great challenge from Sandi at Dixie Pieces..using 'rain' in a LO...so used this photo of Pete with my dear mum at Ben & Linda's wedding in December 2000.  I just love this photo of my mum dressed up in such happy colours, with her brolley up to shield her from the elements.  Doesn't Pete look dashing in his 'father of the groom' suit too?

Little tiny leaves

 

The challenge at Dixie Pieces was to use an older punch..one that does only one thing...so I chose my little leaf punch & had a ball with them over this LO!

This is such a great photo of our daughter with her dad, & I have wanted to scrap it for ages...& this was a perfect chance to do it.

What a lovely challenge this was at Soul Scrappers...it was to scrap a LO of our parents or grand parents with a B & W photo.  So I chose this wonderful photo of my parents in Lismore in 1942..isn't it lovely?

I really enjoyed working on this vintage LO...it was very special.

Been out of action....

 

But I'm back now!!! Internet seems to be OK now - thank heavens.

We have decided to sell our home & so all weekend it was nose to the grindstone getting it ready for prospective buyers...but I did have a chance to sneak in & work on a couple of  LO's for the 

LSBS Cybercrop.

This LO of my nephew & his family, was inspired by Tara & included in 'pieces of my family.'

Another LO, of my lovely garden using a great sketch by Anna.

This is the title I have chosen from the list for the final LO for the Soul Scrappers Glee Club ....& yes, it was great night!  My dress up birthday party a few years ago...so I went a bit hippie-ish with this page & enjoyed digging around for that old feeling.

Moving to the dark side......

 

Yes, that is correct - I am now working on digital LO's!!  I honestly had no idea how much I would enjoy them & so I have been fiddling about for a couple of days with colours & textures....

I have only limited photos as we have not yet recovered our data from the NAS drive (heavens I hope it all returns) that was blown up by the storm, & this is one photo that I found in my email & saved to my netbook.  This is for Mary's challenge at Soul Scrappers using these SU colours.

Lightening struck last night...

Well, it struck our neighbours home next door really during a very electrical storm ...very damaging to them & to us & other neighbours...

So with that said, I have no big NAS drive any longer to access for my photos - it blew up....oh dear me! 

It was one of the casualies of the force in our home including our air conditioner, 3 phones, the work laptop, TV & so hopefully when the new drives arrives (ordered today) hubby (Mr IT) will be able to replace the drive & restore all our back up, of our back up!!

It is SO scary when it happened...so bright & SO loud...we both jumped off our seats in fright...the poor kitties, well under the bed they went!!

Ring, ring to the insurance now....
